Dr. Amy Martin is an obstetrician and gynecologist with over 20 years of experience caring for women in all phases of life. She has been known for her dedication to her patients, going above and beyond the call of duty. She derives gratification from knowing the patient and her family throughout her many years of caring for them.
Raised in Western Pennsylvania, Dr. Martin is a fourth-generation physician. She attended Northwestern University, where she received her undergraduate degree in political science. She spent one year of college at the University of Seville in Spain, where she learned to speak Spanish while studying the economics of Latin America. She was thinking about law school but couldn’t resist her calling to medicine. After college, she completed a post-baccalaureate degree in science at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and was awarded her M.D. Since her graduation, Dr. Martin has been proud to be a Texan. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas, where she established her private practice in 2002.
Dr. Martin is particularly interested in menopause, bioidentical hormone therapy, obesity and weight management, and preventative women’s healthcare. Dr. Martin is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is currently working toward a dual certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has received a degree in female genital cosmetic surgery from the International Society of Cosmetogynecology. She is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Baylor College of Medicine. She is proud to work with the residency program at Baylor Scott and White and serve as a hospitalist there for patients without a private physician.
Dr. Martin currently resides in Dallas with her husband. She is the proud mother of 2 grown sons. When not caring for patients, she spends time with her family, cooking, gardening, and spending relaxing time with her family and dogs on the lake.
